The CD features Williams reading, in his delightful and mesmerizing Mississippi drawl, several of a group of folk poems he called “Blue Mountain Ballads,” a poem dedicated to his longtime companion Frank Merlo, another to Carson McCullers, as well as his long early poem, “The Summer Belvedere.”

One of the world’s greatest playwrights, TENNESSEE WILLIAMS (1911-1983) was the author of over thirty full-lenght plays published by New Directions along with a novel, two vclumes of his correspondance, his Memoirs, his Collected Stories, dozens of one-act plays, and a book of essays.
